FestFriends Help

How can we help?

Search common questions about profiles, festivals, friends, messages, organizations, privacy, safety, and Live Location.

Getting Started

Complete your profile

Add a photo, location, biography, festival style, companion preference, and music genres so other members can understand who you are.

Getting Started

Install FestFriends on your phone or computer

Supported browsers can install FestFriends from the in-app Install FestFriends prompt or the browser’s Add to Home Screen / Install App menu. The installed web app still uses live server data; private profiles, messages, and location information are intentionally not stored for offline browsing.

Festivals

Add a festival to My Festivals

Open a published festival and choose your attendance status. Upcoming festivals then appear throughout your dashboard and discovery tools.

Festivals

Festival reminders and calendar export

Open Account Settings → Festival Planner to opt into one-week or one-day reminders for Festival Editions you marked Interested or Going, or download your upcoming plans as an iCalendar (.ics) file.

Friends & Companions

Friends versus Festival Companions

Friendships are ongoing social connections. Festival Companion requests are tied to a particular festival and help people coordinate attendance together.

Messages

Manage messages and notifications

Use Account Settings → Notifications to choose optional notification categories. Messages and notification inboxes also provide read and cleanup controls.

Live Location

Control live location sharing

Live Location is optional and festival-specific. Account Settings → Privacy & Data also provides a Stop all sharing control for every currently active share.

Live Location

Why am I not visible on a festival map?

Your GPS may be working correctly while you are outside the organizer-configured festival geofence. FestFriends intentionally excludes distant locations from that festival map.

Privacy

Control who can contact you

Open Account Settings → Interaction Privacy to control new Friend Requests, new friend-to-friend direct conversations, and Festival Companion Requests. Blocking a member always overrides these preferences.

Safety

Block or report another member

Profile and content safety controls let you block members or submit reports. Account Settings → Safety shows blocked members and the status of reports you submitted.

Security

Review signed-in devices

Account Settings → Sessions lists browser sessions and mobile/API tokens so you can revoke devices you no longer recognize or use.

Privacy

Download a privacy snapshot

Account Settings → Privacy & Data provides a password-confirmed JSON snapshot of account, profile, attendance, settings, and current live-location information.

Account

Temporarily deactivate your account

Account Settings → Account Status lets you take a reversible break. Deactivation signs you out, stops active Live Location/check-ins, and hides you from new discovery/contact. Signing in again automatically reactivates the account.

Organizations

Festival organizer access

Organizations can manage festival editions, members, branding, announcements, maps, moderation, and other organizer tools according to assigned roles and permissions.
