Privacy Policy

1. Information you provide

FestFriends may process account details, profile information, photos, messages, friendships, companion requests, festival attendance, community posts, reports, support requests, organization activity, notification preferences, and other information you choose to submit.

2. Optional location information

If you enable Live Location, FestFriends processes location updates to provide the feature. Current location sharing can be stopped at any time. Festival Replay and Insights use privacy-preserving aggregate cells designed not to retain a permanent user identifier or reconstruct individual attendee routes.

3. Security and operational information

FestFriends may process session, device, IP, security-event, audit, error, queue, and diagnostic information to authenticate users, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and operate the service safely.

4. How information is used

Information is used to provide requested features, personalize the experience, deliver notifications, support festival and social interactions, moderate abuse, respond to support requests, secure accounts, maintain the service, and create privacy-preserving aggregate insights.

5. When information is shared

Information may be shown to other FestFriends users according to the feature and your settings. Service providers may process information on FestFriends' behalf for functions such as hosting, email delivery, storage, or security. Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law or protect users and the service.

6. Your controls

FestFriends provides controls for profile information, notifications, blocks, sessions and devices, Live Location, privacy data snapshots, and account deletion. Some information cannot be associated back to you after it has been converted into privacy-preserving aggregate data.

7. Retention

Retention depends on the type of information and operational need. Some security and administrative records use defined retention windows. Deleted account content may be removed or de-identified, while records may be retained when needed for legitimate security, legal, or dispute-resolution purposes.

8. Security

FestFriends uses technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect information, but no online system can guarantee absolute security. Members should use a unique password and available two-factor or passkey features.

9. Adults only

FestFriends is intended only for people age 18 or older. Accounts for people known to be under 18 are not permitted.

10. Policy changes

The current version and effective date are posted here. Material privacy changes may also be communicated through the service when appropriate.
